Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.
saturday night fever.

i've been standing for more than 12 hours - from clearing the tables to making frequent trips to the kitchen. well, minus the two breaks i had in between though. and i'm so glad everything is over now. =)

there was two wedding receptions held. the first one kinda spoiled our mood, for we had to deal with the fussy auntie. she wasn't happy with almost everything - like claiming that the 'pelamin wasn't romantic enough', and the bunga rampai being 'plain and unnattractive'.

and the family members just made it worse. they were curious to know which of the three cakes is edible. one by one kept asking, and when i said "i don't know either.", you should have seen the face. hello, the cakes were already there when i came that morning. how was i supposed to know if it's edible or not?

after the cake-cutting ceremony, i said to Syaza,

"so, have they found out which cake is edible?"

LOL.

but i must say that i enjoyed serving the 2nd family. the people were so much nicer and the atmosphere was euphoric.

there's pretty kids running everywhere, and i was hoping they wouldn't run into me, causing my tray to topple and making me look like one clumsy ass in the middle of a nice occasion.
but thank God i was saved the embarrasing moment.

and for once, i felt as if i was one of the people invited to the wedding. =) i get to watch the kompang, silat and dance performances as well as the video montage on how the couple met while i was busy clearing up the tables.

yea, i was kept busy. you heard me. heh. after Syaza and Tisha left, i had to do more work. what's more with such overwhelming response. everything went so fast i hardly get to catch my breath. okay, i was exaggerating. we experienced a shortage of manpower, now that there's only Aunt, Dian and me left to manage the whole place.

Ath, on the other hand, had surrendered and worked in the kitchen for she had blisters on both feet. you should have seen her walk - at a speed of gear 1, with small, cute steps like a Japanese wearing a kimono. haha. sorry, darl.

well, i had fun, even though my muscles located at the anterior side of my ulna radius are still aching as i'm typing this now.

okaaaay, there's only one cure for this. and it's food. =D
