Well hello. For those who don't already know, I was in Jakarta for the past week. Sorry to those who tried to contact me, and thinking that i was kidnapped and such. But hey, i'm safe home alright. Hehe. And not to worry too, i fared well for all my modules this semester. Only that i thought they should give me an A instead for all the B plus-ses that i've got. But oh well, it's just good that there's no supp papers for me (:
Anyway, going to Jakarta was a last-minute thing, mainly because my dad didn't know where else to go. And besides, he got a week of leave to clear from last year's. Initially, I was hoping he would bring us to someplace nice like Spain or something. But i'm glad he didn't, cos it's been like years since i last step foot on Jakarta, and til today, i still love that place.
For the entire six days, we stayed over at my aunt's. For once, we didn't have to stay in a hotel. Cos staying in a hotel would mean having to keep unwashed undergarments for a week and no DVD watching til wee hours in the morning with the cousins. Plus, no delicious home-cooked breakfast each time i wake up. My aunt is really good at cooking okay. Hehe.
Anyway, her family brought us to places for some window-shopping and well, real shopping too, every day. It's good to have a supir (driver) around at times like these laa eh. Wished i had one too. Hehe. They also introduced to us some of the good local food available. I guess if i were to extend another week there, i would grow up to twice my current size cos the food there is yummeh. Food, that's all i can ever think of.

Ohh anyway, while we were walking one of the malls, we saw Merpati Band. They're one of the many bands in Indonesia. So cool kan?

And on one night, we went to watch their current popular-than-donuts movie,
Ayat-Ayat Cinta. I was expecting their cinema to be of a similar standard to Shaw's or Princess' but hell no. Their's is way better, and bigger at that. Only that i didn't really fancy their popcorn box, cos it looked so much like the brown box they have in the previous ward i went to, the one where they put the foetus in after one has aborted the baby. Okay anyway,
Ayat-Ayat Cinta has a really good storyline, and the lead actress is damn pretty. It's really worth my dad's 15,000 rupiah per person (SGD 3) so to say.
Besides that, we even visited my dad's ex-colleague who has apparently migrated to work for the SIA company there. His apartment's a beauty, i like!

We had planned to go to Bandung on the Thursday night. We had rented another car so that we could all drive up to the town together. So in the day, the cousins and i went to the salon to waste some money. My sis got her hair rebonded, the two cousins got their hair cut and creambath-ed. Whereas for me, i got my hair dyed. Haha.
So after we're done, went home to get changed before heading to Bandung. I liked the place we had dinner at, it was so kampung-styled. And besides, the food's nice.

Later that night, we checked into the apartment we had booked earlier. I so love the place. Just too bad i didn't take pictures of its interior.

Next day was just shopping for goodies..

there's even some kind of food named after me laa.

And more shopping. We had gone to the hypermarket to get our favourite Mie Sedaap and TehBotol Sosro.

And on our way back home, it was raining heavily. And then there's like kids about the age of 8 and below, holding an umbrella each. But the weird thing was, they were totally drenched. Soon i realised that they were actually taxi-flaggers. Or in other words, helping people to flag the taxi. It's pretty sad to see them in that state though.
So yea, like they say, every beginning has an end. We got on the SIA flight and set for home (:
